David J. Baker, SPHR

Managing Director/CEO

David J. Baker, the Founder and CEO of Human Capital Advisors, has almost 30 years of corporate and executive entrepreneurial leadership and business experience spanning multiple industries and functions. He is particularly adept at linking human capital strategy and operations with organizational goals and objectives. His first book, The Everything HR Kit, was published in August 2010 by the American Management Association.

Prior to forming and launching Human Capital Advisors, Dave established and led the Human Capital Solutions practice for Adams Capital Management, one of the largest venture capital firms in the country. He was accountable for all executive, management and professional assessment, coaching, recruitment and talent programs in the U.S.  He served as the internal HR consultant to the entire portfolio of companies.  Services comprised implementing a broad range of HR initiatives including: executive coaching, recruitment and selection, compensation, benefits, training, workforce development, and leadership and organization development. Prior to Adams Capital, Dave was the Director of Human Resources for ADC Telecommunications in Minneapolis. Earlier in his career, he was the first human resources executive for WQED Communications, home of Mister Rogers, the National Geographic Specials, Project Literacy, The Infinite Voyage, and numerous other national productions.  Dave started his career with the Swiss Aerospace company, Contraves Goerz where he was the HR Manager for their Charlotte, NC operations.

Dave holds an MA in Human Resource Management from Saint Francis University in Loretto, PA and a BA in Psychology and Industrial Relations from Saint Vincent College.  Dave has served on the Board of Directors for McGuire Home, the Pittsburgh Human Resource Association the Marcellus Resource Group and the Pittsburgh Venture Capital Association and other organizations focused on advancing the field of human resource management.

He is a frequent speaker on current human capital best practices including effective executive coaching in a dynamic market, metrics and analytics, compliance and litigation, human capital technology, and the impact of changing workforce demographics.

In 2003, Dave was awarded Lifetime Distinction as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by the Society of Human Resource Management in Alexandria, Virginia, which recognizes extraordinary leadership within the human resources profession.

Mary Anna Del Rossa 
Human Resource Professional

Mary Anna holds a BS in Business Logistics from Pennsylvania State University, and has completed coursework toward an MS in Organizational Development from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She has twenty years of corporate business and Human Resources experience, across multiple industries with various clienteles. An expert in human resource management, Mary Anna has driven Human Resources in start-up divisions, operations, staffing and selection.

Mary Anna led and oversaw staffing and selection process in North America for Development Dimensions International. She developed strategies and executed processes that included interfacing with senior level business units. Mary Anna oversaw employee relations, orientation programs, relocation, benefit training, and performance management.

Angie Fozard
Senior Executive Recruiter 

Angie Fozard brings over fifteen years of Executive Recruitment, Talent Assessment, Sales and Marketing experience to Human Capital Advisors. Angie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Dayton. A proven self-starter and entrepreneur, Angie is especially skilled at improving organizational productivity through partnership strategies resulting in effectively building long term relationships.

Prior to Human Capital Advisors, Angie held senior level management positions such as Director of Strategic Alliances for Corporate Information Systems (CISCORP, based in Western Pennsylvania) and Manager of Contract Services for Carlisle Systems Group. Angie built new consulting service divisions from the ground up; developing marketing, business and organizational plans to effectively meet profit and growth objectives; with a strong emphasis on recruiting and networking to meet project and corporate level hiring needs.

Jim brings more than 25 years of management and leadership experience in technology and professional services firms. He has over 12 years of strategic talent acquisition background including corporate and agency experience, a background in management of employees as well as mentoring of junior recruiters and schedulers, a member of Development and Implementation teams charged with new recruiting processes/strategies at two Fortune 500 corporations and experience in both recruiting and business development within multiple job disciplines including engineering, finance and medical device. Jim has 3 years of current experience of Kenexa and Kenexa BrassRing online candidate management systems. He has extensive back office experience including finances and governmental regulatory compliance and expertise in developing the business policies and navigating governmental requirements to support a consulting staff across multiple states.

Jared Baker
Recruiter

Jared J. Baker recently joined Human Capital Advisors as a Recruiter and has over 3 years of corporate and executive recruitment experience spanning multiple industries and functions. Prior to joining Human Capital Advisors, Jared was a Technical Recruiter for KForce Professional Staffing where he was responsible for identifying, engaging, and recruiting qualified candidates by performing sourcing activities to include, but not limited to: market and Internet research identifying alternate candidate sources, cold calling, executing recruiting calls, referral recruiting, online social networking, attending seminars and local networking events. Jared excelled at analyzing client requirements against qualifications of candidates and match the best candidate with client needs. Jared holds a BA in Business Management with an Operational Excellence Minor from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA.

Lorrie Kuny
HR Project Administrator

Lorrie joined the team in August, 2017 as Human Resources Project Administrator. Lorrie has a varied background in human resources, executive and administrative project management, with a little promotion along the way. She began her career with Alexander and Alexander, an international insurance brokerage firm conducting human resource assessments and implementation of their corporate compensation programs nationwide. Her eight year tenure with WQED/Pittsburgh, home of Mister Rogers and Where in the World is Carmen San Diego? productions’, afforded HR and executive/production support to the Senior Vice President. Her multiple non-profits’ volunteer efforts include fundraising for Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) and Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). She provides research support to all team members on current projects for varied clients. Lorrie attended Robert Morris University and numerous classes through the American Compensation Association.

Lynn B. Patterson
Account Executive

Lynn Patterson has twenty-five plus years of start-up organizational, operational and process development experience which she brings to Human Capital Advisors. Lynn’s responsibilities include: conducting Human Resource audits, creation of employee databases, benefit plan administration, 401k) administration, and process development and execution. Lynn holds an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Robert Morris University.

Prior to HCA Lynn was with Pepperweed Consulting where she was responsible for development and execution of many of the human resources processes and procedures. Lynn was with Adams Capital Management from its inception, having responsibility for the coordination and management of their information technology resources along with the opening and managing of multiple offices nationwide.

Lauren Fozard
Director of Marketing 

Lauren, a Pittsburgh native, is a West Virginia University graduate, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in Sport Management. At WVU, she was a Presidential Scholar, “Top Sport Management Student” and a BIG Initiative finalist for “Top 10 Sport Management Students in the Country.” Prior to joining Human Capital Advisors, she worked in Public Relations within the National Football League (NFL), WVU’s Athletic Department in multiple roles including Director of Operations for the Men’s Division I Ice Hockey Program and has served as Pittsburgh’s Community Marketing Coordinator for Groupon. She is also currently a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates’ Bucco Brigade.

Grant A. Miller
Director of Information Systems

Grant has been with Human Capital Advisor’s since its beginning and brings his over 30 years of professional involvement and development within the IT world, including development of custom applications, business intelligence reporting, data warehousing, software development, to the team. He is also an expert with the NetSuite ERP system.  Grant is called upon for not only internal Human Capital Advisors information system projects and day to day operations, but also supports development of Information Technology policies that help guide organizations in securing information technology.  Grant has authored four books – The Samurai Way, The Aiki Way, The Secret Origins of Hapkido, and The Hapki Way. His newest book, the Aiki-Jujutsu Way, will be coming out soon. He is fluent in Japanese, and also speaks French, German and Cantonese.
